P.O. / Dusk of Sanity (The Jabberwock's Hatching)
Still I long to see Barcelona written on a road sign
For my eyes are dying of remaining shut in the dark
The light is virtual and only shines in the inside
The blazing sunlight over the plain cradled by the wind and sea
Oh, blindness corners you in your colourful memories
Memories like an unreachable future
Nestled against the side of a mountain chain diving into the sea
A huge frontier wall of folded rocks like the snapshot of the titanic collision
Between the end of the world and the land of giraffelephants
Long time no see, long long long time no see
And the sea was thick as velvet, lithe and smooth as a beast
The Mediterranean sea
Still I long to see Barcelona written on a road sign
But the clouds drift on, and past is but a cemetery
A rolling stone is not to climb back up the hill
Though southern ghosts still seem to be flowing in your very veins
And every mountain crest seems to be hiding Spain
For what's hidden to the eyes gets the imagination working
And from this valley of vineyard and spindrift, the southern mountains were,
To my child's eyes, like a gigantic gate to a surrealistic wonderland, wide as a continent
A continent named Spain
Long time no see, long long long time no see
And the sea was thick as velvet, lithe and smooth as a beast
The Mediterranean sea
Still I long to see Barcelona written on a road sign
(One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
Who hasn't hatched yet? Who hasn't hatched yet?
The storm has subsided leaving nothing behind
But the sound of breaking shell, the sound of breaking shell
And within the ruins of a devastated home
The Jabberwock has awakened, the Jabberwock has awakened
Don't mess with the mad beast in your head
It's lurking somewhere, it's lurking somewhere
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight)
